Roger McFarlane
Born at Newcastle New South Wales Australia 1948. He went to sea at the age of 16, and had a chequered career working in many industries throughout Australia, New Zealand, England, Scotland and Switzerland. He eventually joined his brother to create a successful engineering company. Roger has a wife Sandra and a daughter Meg.

Roger is an experienced sculptor with the ability to work in a wide range of materials and scale. From small bronzes, to large marble, granite, timber and mixed media public sculptures are within his range of expertise.

Whereas Roger considers himself mainly self taught, he has visited Italy on many occasions to work at the Palla Studio (Pietrasanta Northern Tuscany) to improve his technique in marble carving. Roger has had a strong involvement with the Sculptors Society, The oldest sculptors' society in Australia. The Society actively promotes the interests of sculptors, and the Art of sculpture.

In 2000 Roger was invited to South Korea to Carve a Monument to the Australian forces who served with the UN during the Korean War. The Monument is at Pusan at the UN war memorial. The material used was local granite. See CV for details of exhibitions.

Roger imports Sculptural marble from Italy, and has a selection in stock available for sale to sculptors. Special size blocks can be ordered. See the Marble Yard for details. Please view the sculptures on display and enjoy their diversity of materials and subject.

The Bronzes are in additions, while the other sculptures are unique and will not be repeated.
