Matt Cauchi Biography
Matt Cauchi is a Sydney based Mixed Media abstract artist whose paintings are tactfully layered to reveal an acute balance between minimalism, Fauvism and Abstract Expressionism. Taking influence from urban landscapes to create polished works, he goes against the grain of old art world conventions - bringing people directly into his story.His approach, which oscillates between his considered use of layers and textures, reveal windows of intense, tactile hues. Using intuition and improvisation, Cauchi carefully layers materials, including acrylic, enamel, aerosol, oil and custom made compound. Cauchi’s aim is that each purposeful composition achieves a considered balance between beauty and chaos.His work has been commissioned and featured by a host of clients that include NSW Government, City of Sydney, The Design Files, Dovecote, The Mint Partners, R.M.Williams and was selected as one of 12 artists worldwide to provide exclusive artwork to multi billion dollar real estate firm Nest Seekers International as part of their new luxury living initiative, Nest Collections.His works are highly collectible in their ability to integrate seamlessly with existing surrounds and design interiors. His work can be found in private collections globally.
