Art Gallery Assistant – Wentworth Galleries, Brisbane 

Wentworth Galleries has been in operation for 30 years and we’re looking to expand our team in our newly established Brisbane Gallery.

Wentworth Galleries is seeking an enthusiastic and versatile Gallery Assistant for our Brisbane location at Queen's Wharf. This is a hands-on role combining art handling, client services, logistics, and gallery operations. 

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver, install, and hang artworks in client homes (including heavy pieces)

Use power tools and equipment for professional artwork installation

Pack, box, and prepare artworks for shipping and fulfilment

Drive the gallery van for deliveries and collections

Engage with visitors in the gallery, providing 

knowledgeable and welcoming service and sales

Manage shipping logistics and coordinate artwork movements

Attend exhibition openings and gallery events

Maintain meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of artwork handling and presentation

Essential Skills:

Current driver's licence and confidence driving a van

Physical capability to handle and install heavy artworks

Competence with power tools and art installation equipment

Competent computer skills for administrative tasks and systems management

Excellent time management and organisational abilities

Outstanding interpersonal skills with a personable, respectful demeanour

Meticulous attention to detail

Experience in sales would be an advantage

Fun and positive team member 

Genuine passion for art and working with people

Reliable and trustworthy for independent client visits

Compensation:

Pay will be commensurate with skills and experience.
