Ancient Landscapes by Peter Coad

On Tuesday the 21st of October we will be opening a new exhibition of paintings by the remarkable Peter Coad.

The aptly titled Ancient Landscapes exhibition includes paintings from his travels to the Flinders Ranges, Coorong, Lake Eyre, the Kimberley, Daintree, and Grampians along with Kakadu, Uluru, Kata Tjuta, and the East MacDonald Ranges. With a painting itinerary like that extending for over a year, it's no wonder his work has been difficult to get. This collection by Peter Coad has been a long time in the making and is sure to be a standout in his stellar career that so far totals more than 50 solo exhibitions.

If you'd like to come along to the preview on Tuesday the 21st, and are not on our email mailing list click here to join artmail and receive invitations to exhibition and art gallery news.

A little overstocked but still outstanding!

I'm the first to admit that on occasion, some of our galleries get a little over run with stock and can look a bit messy. What can I say? We have great difficulty saying no to fabulous new artwork but we must be doing something right. We've been awarded the City of Sydney Business Awards title of most outstanding Art Gallery for the second time in 3 years. In fact, we've jumped right into a broader category called "Household & General Retail" encapsulating all Art Galleries and much more. All of us here are very proud of the quality of product and service we provide and a little recognition is really appreciated.

Last year we were finalists and the year before top honours were ours. Enormous thanks to all of our collectors, all of our staff and all of our artists.

Palla Jeroff - August 13 until August 23rd

Palla Jeroff 'Waiting' 70x140cm

After much effort we have finally managed to secure enough of Palla Jeroff's paintings to hold a solo exhibition for him. Suffice to say his work is hard to come by and this latest collection was worth the wait. On the evening of August 13th from 5:30pm these new works will be on display and available to purchase at our opening cocktail party.

We are holding this exhibition at our Gallery in the Sofitel Wentworth Hotel (Foyer Level). We host most of our major exhibitions in our Bligh Street Gallery so this will be an opportunity for many of our regular exhibition attendees to see one of our other spaces. The Gallery at the Wentworth Hotel was our first, opened about 15 years ago. It will be lovely to host an exhibition there again.

Palla will be there to discuss his work and everyone is welcome. Come and join us at 61 Phillip Street Sydney for a marvellous exhibition of paintings by this world class artist.
